salinger rip

I was reading pierre salinger's "with kennedy" when i heard he'd died.
Old age. And, granted, i wasn't reading it at that moment; it is one of a half a dozen kennedy books i'm in the middle of.
these include "the last kennedy" about teddy
and one i think called "a question of character" which is a little dull but readable.
the salinger is what's called "the camelot school" of uncritical work.
the 'question of character' tries hard to be critical but ends up pretty mainstream.
maybe this is because i'm coming off seymour hersh's "the dark side of camelot" which pretty much repeats any nasty rumour the others have mentioned, as unquestionably true. this may or may not turn out; it's in my 'to be fact-checked" file. i've done a little checking online so far.

some teddy notes:
kennedy template:
lies like a dog.
cheats
treats women as headboard notches.
drinks too much.
reckless driving
caught reckless driving 4 times.
instigated plane crash that killed 2.
absent father
depends on servants
emotionally withdrawn

joan kennedy:
drinks too much
reckless driving

teddy:
expelled from harvard for cheating,
tried to cover it up.
ordered by father to run for office, grew into role later.
prominant mistresses? went after judith davis (is it davis? wrong name?), the one who dated sam flood.

who killed kennedy? frank sinatra.
frank sinatra set up kennedy with davis, who was go between with "sam flood" sam giancanni, chicago mobster. already hired by fbi to kill castro before kennedy, probably worked for joe kennedy bootlegging.
giancanni linked to cuba/new orleans mobsters who recruited oswald.
oswald was patsy, modus operandi is you get a 'lone gunman' nutcase,then whack him afterwards. jack ruby directly linked to mob. there you have it.
that's what lindy thought anyway.
this does not yet explain sirhan sirhan or does it.
warren commission was whitewash so bobby could cover up mob connection to preserve john's legacy - but it came out anyway by now.

joe jr - plane crash. several die.
john - pt boat sunk. 2 die. more recklessness with next pt boat.
rolled a car near paris. need dates for all these.
bay of pigs - 100 die. missle crisis, 100s million emperilled.


kathleen/kick. plane crash. 4 die. instigated by her boyfriend.
bobby - tries to hit castro
teddy. 4 reckless driving incidents involving cops. lots more without.
plane crash - 2 die. birch bayh lives.
chappaquiddick. 1 dies.
ran for pres 76.
joan - car wreck, no deaths, drunk.
pat and peter: how many car wrecks?
honey fitz:
used gansgters to rig congressional election. joe involved directly.
had mistresses, blantant about it. set the pattern?
patrick kennedy - didn't drink. sold booze. took bribes. rigged elections.
patrick kennedy's wife - sister of mayor. ambitious. social climber.
jean - married smith, bagman,
eunice, one more.
rosemary, lobotomized by joe, probably not molested by joe.
sg shriver - social climber. ran for vp 72.
maria shriver - married gov califonia. future pres candidate?
wm kenndy smith - rape allegations. teddy involved.
john-john - was he the one who died in plane crash? or was that a joe?
caroline kennedy townsend - which one is she? jacks or bobby's? gov of maryland.
it's going to take awhile before i get any of this solid.

placeholder for andy jacobs story

andy gave a speech saturday to the iclu, in which he mentioned johnson's we shall overcome speech - he was there. when i get more time, i'll want to write it up.
meanwhile i'm reading salinger on kennedy.
